Since Sonic Advance and Sonic Adventure 2 Battle work together, it was only natural for Versus Books to make the Sonic Advance/Sonic Adventure 2 Battle Perfect Guide capturing both games in one. Versus Books has been my favorite strategy guide maker for their easy to use instructions and maps.

In the Sonic Advance side this remains true as each level is mapped out with items and points of interest shown. Also listed are detailed instruction on boss battles and specific strategies for each of the four characters.

The Sonic Adventure 2 Battle side isn’t nearly as user friendly. It provides thorough information on meeting the requirements and getting animals for your chaos (pronounced ‘chows’), but as this is given not in a map but in a series of pictures, it is often difficult to find what is shown.

One thing both sides do well is to give detailed information on chao raising. Between general tips and detailed information on stat boosting with fruit, animals, and drives, the guide removes any questions about chao world. One thing that is lacking is tips on racing and karate modes, but those are easily won if you have a well-trained chao.

Overall, while this isn’t the best-constructed guide, it is worth the price if you need the help.
